WORX Cordless Trimmer and Edger

WORX Cordless Trimmer and Edger
I finally bought myself this WORX Cordless Trimmer and Edger. I've seen their ads on television for some time now and always thought, I really want to get one of these.

My gas powered trimmer just quit working. I had such a hard time getting it started and keeping it running. So, when it quit I finally made the decision to buy a cordless battery operated trimmer.

With the WORX cordless there is no mess mixing the gas and oil. The trimmer line feeds automatically. You don't have to prime the gas and pull a cord. There is certainly nothing wrong with a gas trimmer I'm sure there are some quality gas trimmers on the market. They're just not for me.

I've also owned some electric trimmers. The problem for me is that you have to have outside outlets and then, drag the cord around the yard. Oh, and be careful not to cut the cord. Once again there is nothing wrong with electric trimmers, they're just not for me.

What I like about the WORX Cordless Trimmer and Edger.
  1. The main shaft is adjustable to fit your height.
  2. The handle adjusts up and down to a comfortable position for you.
  3. The trimmer head adjusts up or down.
  4. It has a set of wheels for edging. You adjust the trimmer head all the way down and flip it onto the wheels for easy edging.
  5. There is a button on the handle to automatically feed the trimmer line.
  6. Included are 2- 20V batteries and a charger.
  7. One spool of trimmer cord with 10 feet of cord.
I have a small yard. It takes me about 30 minutes to mow my lawn. Then I just grab the WORX, no gas, no cords to plugin, and no worry about changing or feeding a new trimmer line.

Each battery has 4 hours of trimming life. I've haven't timed it but one battery will last me 4 times around my yard to trim and edge. That may be a little less than 4 hours but, I always have a battery charged.

When you buy a WORX you get spools of trimmer line free for life. All you have to do is go to their website and sign up. You'll pay about $9.00 shipping and handling and receive 6 spools of trimmer line. And, they are really easy to change.

I highly recommend the WORX cordless trimmer and edger. This tool made trimming and edging my lawn so much easier.

I own the WG163, here are just a few different models in the WORX line of trimmers

Zodiac Classic Timepiece

Zodiac Classic Timepiece

Give someone special the gift of time, with a Zodiac classic timepiece that will last a lifetime. I have to tell you this story; on our wedding day, Fran gave me the Zodiac watch pictured above. I treasure this gift every day.

Now, I’m going to tell you how long ago that was. We were married in 1973. So, at the time of this posting, my Zodiac watch is 46 years old and still keeps time as good as the day she gave it to me.

My Zodiac watch is Swiss-made and is mechanical, which means it's automatic. I never have to wind it or replace a battery; the watch winds itself with the movement of my wrist.

The company is based in Switzerland and was founded in 1882 by Ariste Calame. His son took over the business in 1895. Ariste’s passion from the beginning was to create the most precise timepiece of all time. His company became one of the fastest-growing companies in Switzerland. In 1930, they designed the first automatic sports watch.

In 1953, Zodiac introduced the first dive watch called the Sea Wolf. In the early 1970’s, they introduced the Super Sea Wolf, which was adopted by the United States Navy Seals.

Zodiac doesn’t just produce dive watches; they also have a beautiful line of men’s and women's watches that anybody would be proud to own.

The watches have a patented crown and stem with a sturdy case back design. So they are designed to last. I can surely back that one up, as I said, 46 years and still going strong.

So give the gift of time, you won’t regret it, the watches are pricey but in my opinion, they are well worth the investment.

Maybe you would like to get yourself a gift. Or, you might collect fine watches; this would be a nice addition to your collection.

Home Kitchen Organization Ideas

Home Kitchen Organization Ideas
It goes without saying that we all spend a lot of time in the kitchen. And, if you're like me that time is very well spent.

When I'm cooking I like to have things as organized as possible. I'm just one of those people that like to clean up as I go.

I think a well-organized kitchen makes the job go so much smoother. Do I have a perfectly organized kitchen? I don't think so but I do my best.

Home Kitchen Organization Ideas: For Spices

Here are some easy and inexpensive ideas that I use. Let's start with spices, we have a drawer full of spices and still not enough room for all of them. So, we picked up this handy wall-mounted spice rack to ease the pain of digging through a drawer full of spices.

When it comes to spices there are many options. Below are just a few:

Home Kitchen Organization Ideas: K-Cup Storage

Everyone knows that we love our coffee. We make are our first pot of coffee in the morning with our 12-cup coffee maker.

That first pot doesn't last very long. As the day goes on we use our Keurig one-cup coffee maker for a fresh cup of hot coffee. If you have a one-cup machine then you also have K-Cups and need a place to keep them neat and handy. We use the carousel and keep it right next to the Keurig.

Storing staples like flour, sugar, coffee, and even snacks can take up a lot of room in your kitchen cabinets. If you have ample counter space consider using canisters. or, use the canisters inside the cabinet to declutter for more shelf space.

Keeping these staples organized and handy on the counter makes them easy to use and frees up some much-needed cabinet space.

Countertop Canister Sets

Keeping kitchen drawers organized can sometimes be a daunting task. Silverware and cutlery can easily be organized with simple drawer dividers.

Drawer dividers are also very useful for that famous junk drawer that everybody has. Create separate compartments for pens, pencils, paperclips, rubber bands, and anything else you have in that junk drawer.

Organize canned goods so there always handy with a stackable can rack. Use a sliding basket organizer to create more shelf space in the pantry. These pull out like a drawer and they're also stackable.

Another great idea for creating more space is an over-the-door rack for the pantry door. These are handy for storing spices, bottles, and cans.

Gifts for Pittsburgh Steeler Fans

Gifts for Pittsburgh Steeler Fans

Our family is now on the fourth generation of Steeler fans. And, we sure do have our fair share of Pittsburgh Steelers fan merchandise. In the photo are our son Sammy and his wife Tricia having fun at a Steeler game.

We grew up in a small town just about 35 miles north of Pittsburgh. This is a photo of our fourth generation of Steeler fans. Aren't they all just so cute?

I remember like it was yesterday the first Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl win in 1975. We defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IX. And, I say "We" like I was playing the game!

From there the Steelers went on to win five more super bowls in 1976, 1979, 1980, 2006, and 2009. Overall the Steelers have appeared in the Super Bowl eight times and have a 6-2 record.

Known as the "City of Champions" in the 1970s for championships won by the Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates (Baseball), and the University of Pitt football team the Pitt Panthers.

The famous black and gold colors of Pittsburgh were adopted by the owner of the Steelers Art Rooney in 1933, the Pirates in 1948, and then the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL Hockey Team) in 1979.

Did you know? This makes Pittsburgh the only city in the United States where all three professional sports teams wear the same colors.

Some Pittsburgh Football Facts: Did you know that these famous NFL quarterbacks all came from the Pittsburgh area?

Johnny Unitas       Baltimore Colts
Joe Namath           New York Jets
George Blanda      Oakland Raiders
Joe Montana         San Francisco 49's
Jim Kelly               Buffalo Bills
Dan Marino           Miami Dolphins

Well, that's enough about the history of Pittsburgh sports. As you might have guessed we are huge fans. If you live in this area I'm sure you're a fan, and even if you don't you may be a Pittsburgh Steelers fanatic.

Pittsburgh Steeler fan apparel makes great gifts for anybody on your list. Whatever the occasion sports gear seems to be a go-to gift.
