Kitchen Tools and Appliances for Everyday

most useful kitchen appliances

Every day we use different tools and appliances in our kitchens. What are the most useful kitchen appliances?

When a carpenter or plumber goes to work every day they have certain tools that they rely on to get their job done.

I think that in the kitchen, being the workplace that it is, you have to have certain tools to do the same. We all have our favorite kitchen tool or appliance that we count on every day.

Hamilton Beach 1.1 cu ft Microwave, Child-safe lockout feature (Red)Hamilton Beach 1.1 cu ft Microwave, Child-safe lockout feature (Red)
Often times I would make popcorn in our microwave using a brown paper bag. I believe I burned up my old microwave doing this.

Come to find out that we couldn't live a day without one so we had to run out and buy a new one. Wow, a new microwave just to heat my coffee.

We choose a Hamilton Beach microwave which was reasonably priced for what we need.

To my surprise, in the cautions of the new microwave, they advised not to use brown paper bags in your microwave. Most paper bags contain fragments of metal and can harm your microwave. Who knew?

Another useful appliance for us is our handy NutriBullet high-speed blender and mixer system. Fran uses this to make herself some very healthy fruit and vegetable smoothies.

The NutriBullet pulverizes fruits and vegetables in no time at all for a nutritious drink in minutes.

Me, not so much I like to use it when the kids come over. We have so much fun making milkshakes and ice cream.

Now my grandmother didn’t have the luxury of some of these kitchen tools. Whenever she made her bread dough it was always mixed by hand.

Whenever I make my fresh Tomato Pesto Pizza or my Oatmeal Caramel Apple Cookies I go to my trusty stand mixer to make the dough.

It’s so easy to use and has my dough, batter, or icings ready in minutes.

Then, there is our handy Black and Decker food chopper. We use this quite often for chopping up onions, nuts, and vegetables. This is also very handy for making dips and salsa.

We're going to be due for a new one soon. This one has served us well for many years.

Presto 04821 Orville Redenbacher's Hot Air PopperPresto 04821 Orville Redenbacher's Hot Air Popper

When we have those sleepovers with our grandchildren we start off by making popcorn in our hot air popper. Then find a fun movie to watch and enjoy time well spent.

We quit buying the microwave popcorn years ago given all of the bad press about the chemicals in the process.

We choose the much healthier hot air popper, and the kids love it watching the popcorn fall into the bowl.

These are just some of the tools and appliances that we use in our kitchen. After all, this is where we work and we need the right tools for the job.

I can recommend any one of these products. We own every one of these and use them often.

    1. Hi Sandy, I think that is what ruined my other one, because we made popcorn all the time in paper bags. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. I used to have an air popper, but usually fix popcorn the way I have all my life -- on the stove in a pan. Never liked the taste of microwave popcorn - now that I know about the chemicals used I can see why! :) Today's kitchen aids certainly make our life easier, don't they? Love your recipes.

  12. Since major areas in India suffer extreme climatic conditions, the home appliances like air conditioner brings down the high temperature during summer while the room heaters makes the room warm during winter. Having appliances has also improved health and hygiene in the home. dehumidifier review

  15. My kids have burned out a couple of microwaves making popcorn in brown bags. I suspect they don't hold the aerosolized corn oil in as efficiently as the heavier bags that are used for commercial microwave popcorn. I've switched bag to an air popper, as I see you have too.
