Make Halloween Gift Baskets

Make Halloween Gift Baskets

inShare
Halloween is right around the corner, so it’s not too soon to be thinking of a gift for those special people in your life.

Gift baskets are fun and a great idea for any occasion. Halloween is no exception.

You can take any gift for someone and turn it into a gift basket; the possibilities are endless.

Here are some step-by-step instructions for a Halloween gift basket for kids; this will show you how easy it really is. So think about those special kids in your life, your children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and of course, close friends, and don’t forget the neighbor’s kids.
Materials we are going to use to make our Halloween Gift Basket:
Making Halloween Gift Baskets
  1. A Halloween Orange Bucket or a Basket
  2. Cello Bags (16 x 24) or larger
  3. Glue Dots
  4. Pull Bow or (Make your own Bow)
  5. Orange Crinkle Cut Shred (I opted for Orange Tissue Paper)
  6. Scissors
  7. Scotch Tape
  8. News Print as a filler
For this post, I couldn't find an orange crinkle cut shred or an orange pull bow. So I opted for orange tissue paper and a white bow. Sometimes you just have to improvise.
Items for our Halloween Basket

Since this basket is for the kids, here is what we’ll use. A Happy Halloween sign, an age-appropriate book, this one is, We’re Going on Leaf Hunt, a box of Crayola washable markers, a package of glow-in-the-dark bracelets, a blinking pumpkin necklace, some window decorations, and, of course, candy.

Now you can use your imagination with items for any gift basket; the opportunities are endless.
Prepare Your Basket
prepare
Start by taking the newsprint and filling the bucket or basket almost to the top. Now take the shred or tissue paper and spread it over the newsprint.
Arrange your gift Items in the Basket.
Arranged
Some simple advice for arranging your basket is to put the taller items in the back and the smaller ones up front.

Other than that, just arrange your items until you’re happy with the look of the basket.

Then use the glue dots to hold items together. You don’t need to have any special skills to do this again, just work at it until you like what you see.
Place Your Gift Basket in the Cello Bag
In the bag
As you can see here, I bought a cello bag way too big for the basket. This is not a problem; simply take the corners at the bottom and tape them to the back side of the basket.
After taping the corners to the back side, gather the bag just above the tallest items. I tied the bag with a bow string first, then added my pull bow. I couldn’t find an orange bow, so I used the bow that came with the kit.

What Are the Best Halloween Decorations

Carved Halloween Pumpkins
Our Carved Pumpkins

What are the best Halloween decorations? The answer to that question depends on your personal preference.

I swear every year as I drive around town, I see more and more people decorating for Halloween.

Some of these decorations are to the extreme, and some are so simple. People decorating outside for Halloween is becoming more and more like decorating for Christmas.

Halloween sure is a fun time for kids and adults alike, so why not live it up, enjoy it, and have some fun.

I never decorated too much for Halloween, but I seem to be doing just a little more every year, I think that is because of our grandchildren. They get so excited every year so decorating becomes a family event.

I string orange lights around the front porch, and railings, add some cobwebs to the bushes along with some ghosts on sticks, and of course light up the pumpkins that we carve with our grandchildren.

Then there is my favorite outside decoration that I’ve had for years now. It’s a six-foot airblown inflatable. It’s a Witch Rising out of a Cauldron, and it lights up. This thing has been the best decoration ever we’ve had so many laughs with it.

The kids just love this thing year after year, they all stop and have to walk up to it just to touch it. We even had one neighbor that had to walk his dog on the opposite side of the street, because the dog wouldn’t walk past the witch when we had it turned on.

Then, there is the famous graveyard scene. Turn your yard into a ghoulish and scary graveyard, with tombstones, coffins, mummies, and zombies. I see a lot of yards that are so creative with this, and a lot of them have live zombies on Halloween night.

Table decorated for Halloween

Decorating inside the house is also so much fun, I’m getting to the point where I have just as many totes in the basement for Halloween as I do for Christmas.

We have our favorite Halloween tablecloth, along with some wall décor like spiders and webs. Then we place some light-up pumpkins around the house.

We make our grandchildren a couple of Halloween gift baskets filled with goodies.

On Halloween night we make our favorite Halloween food for the kids, mummy dogs.

I’m getting excited already, and there are still two months to go. We hope you have a safe and happy Halloween.

Disney Frozen Halloween Costumes

Disney Movie Frozen

In 2013 the Disney movie Frozen captured the hearts of children everywhere, I think even most adults would agree that it was an inspiration to sisterly love.

The Story Line of the Movie:

Elsa is the Princess of Arendelle and has the power to produce snow and ice at will. Elsa, while creating snow and ice for her younger sister Anna to play with accidentally injures her. The king and queen worry that Elsa will not be able to control her magic powers so they separate the sisters.

Elsa spends most of her time alone in her room, as she fears she can’t control her powers, and worries she may hurt Anna again.  The king and queen die at sea, and as Elsa comes of age it is time for her coronation.

Anna is excited to be out of the castle and explores the town. She meets a prince and quickly falls in love. Elsa refuses to give the happy couple her blessing and the sisters argue. Elsa can’t control her powers creating a frozen Arendelle, the whole city has been frozen and it continues to snow.

One of the guests, the Duke of Weselton announces that Elsa is a monster. Elsa panics and flees Arendelle to be left alone, she has no idea what she has done.

Anna is bound and determined to find her sister, repair the damage done by the argument, and bring Elsa back to Arendelle.

While getting supplies Anna meets Kristoff and his reindeer Sven. She convinces Kristoff to guide her on her journey to find Elsa. Along the way, they meet Olaf, the childhood imaginary snowman that Elsa and Anna created. Olaf comes to life and helps them find Elsa, who is living far up north in the ice castle that she has created for herself to live alone.

Oh well, I’ll stop here in case you haven’t seen this wonderful movie. I can tell you there is much more to the movie than this. You will find greed and deceit by others throughout the movie, so you’ll have to see it to witness the blockbuster ending.

I think Frozen is a wonderful movie the whole family can enjoy, and the music throughout this movie is just amazing.

As with all hit movies, especially Disney, they generate many wonderful products including Halloween costumes.

Our precious granddaughter loves Elsa, Anna, and Olaf. She has dolls, castles, and clothes, and her room is even decorated in a Frozen theme.

Your little Princess would look great as Elsa, Anna, or how about the fun and happy snowman Olaf.  Frozen Halloween costumes are a sure hit, even for adults going to a costume party.
